Janet Ward, 77

Southborough – Janet (Larrabee) Ward, 77, of Southborough, died Wednesday, Aug. 1, 2012 at Metro Medical Center in Natick after an illness. She was the wife of the late Paul Skidmore, who passed away in 2008.

Born in Concord, she was the daughter of the late George and Margaret (Whitney) Larrabee. She was raised in S. Acton and was a graduate of Acton High School.

Janet was a claims adjuster for Sentry Insurance and the former Middlesex Insurance for many years. She loved crafting and took great pride in her garden. She also enjoyed the beaches and relaxing in Booth Bay Harbor, Maine.

She is survived by her children, Candace Drake of Southborough and Jesse Ward and wife Evelyn of Manchester, N.H.; a sister, Eleanor Kolenda of Stow; six grandchildren, Michelle Drake and fiancé Roland Jarosz, Jessica and Michael Drake, Hoyt Ward and wife Shannon, Danielle Tetro, and Stephen Ward; four great-grandchildren, Troy Cote-Ward, Brianna Tetro, and Haley and Heidi Jarosz; and many friends and nieces and nephews who she adored. She was predeceased by her sister, Florence.

Visiting hours will be held Wednesday, Aug. 8, from 1 to 2:45 p.m., at Morris Funeral Home, 40 Main St., Southborough, followed by a funeral home service at 3 p.m.  Burial will be private.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent in her memory to Baypath Humane Society, 5 Rafferty Rd, Hopkinton, MA 01748.
