Richard Shortsleeves, 70

Framingham – Richard “Ricky” Shortsleeves, 70, of Framingham, formerly of Hudson, died Monday, Aug. 6, 2012 at MetroWest Medical Center in Framingham after a brief illness.

Richard was born in Marlborough, son of the late Donald and Blanche (Vieira) Shortsleeves. He was raised in Hudson, where he enjoyed fishing, roller skating, listening to his radio, and riding his bicycle, all of which he continued to enjoy throughout his life. He also looked forward to attending the traditional Thanksgiving Day football game between Marlborough and Hudson. He had resided in Framingham on Dudley Road most recently, and will be missed by all his friends at his residence.

Besides his many friends, he is survived by many cousins and his special friend, Mary Lou.

Family and friends may attend a calling hour on Friday, Aug. 10, from 10 to 11 a.m., at the Tighe-Hamilton Funeral Home, 50 Central St., Hudson, followed by a celebration of life at 11 a.m. in the funeral home. Burial will follow in Forestvale Cemetery of Hudson.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Richard’s memory may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
