Mary Marcella Billings, 96

Framingham – Mary Marcella (Gibney) Billings, 96, died Friday, Aug. 18, 2012 at St. Patrick’s Manor in Framingham. She was the daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (Dwyer) Gibney, and was predeceased by her husband C. Myron Billings, who was the Superintendent of Hudson Public Schools for many years.

Marcella was born in Webster and resided in Hudson since 1950. She was a registered nurse for many years, as well as a homemaker.

She was the past president and co-founder of the Hudson Youth Booster Club; a member of the Hudson Women’s Club, Catholic Daughters, Arts Alliance, Red Cross Volunteer, and St. Michael’s Church; and a lifelong participant in the creative arts.

Marcella is survived by her four children, Charles of Gloucester, Victor of Boylston, Mary Billings Sherman of Franklin, and John Billings of Lexington. She is also survived by her three grandchildren, Ryan, Kacie and Erin Sherman. She was predeceased by her two sisters, Margaret Thibeault and Catherine Gibney, and her three brothers, William Gibney, Joseph F. Gibney, former State Senator, and Richard Gibney. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Family and friends may attend calling hours Tuesday, Aug. 21, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m., at the Tighe Hamilton Funeral Home, 50 Central St., Hudson. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Aug. 22, at 10 a.m., at St. Michael’s Church in Hudson. Burial will follow in Forestvale Cemetery, Hudson.
