RED DRESS RUN Sept. 22 in Northborough, participants sought

Northborough – The Northboro Hash House Harriers running club is inviting new runners and walkers of both sexes to participate in the RED DRESS RUN Saturday, Sept. 22, from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m.  The RED DRESS RUN is open to adults over 21 and begins at the Prospector Saloon, at 520 Lincoln St, in Marlborough.

There is no charge for the run, and there are optional beer tickets and food available for purchase. A portion of the food and drink ticket proceeds will be donated to local charities.

The RED DRESS RUN is not a race. There are no timers, and the distance is unknown, but will probably be about 3 miles.  Participants will follow the path of lead runners who will mark a spontaneous course with flour and chalk.  The course leads to checkpoints where all the runners will stop, take a drink, and socialize.

The RED DRESS RUN honors a club member who attended her first Hash while wearing a red dress, instead of running clothes. After being mocked for wearing that, she ran anyway. Other Hashers of both sexes began wearing a red dress as a joke, and soon the RED DRESS RUN became an annual tradition around the world. Men and women are invited to wear a comfortable red dress, and have some serious fun and exercise.
