Two arrested for Westborough B&E and property damage

Westborough – Police Chief Alan Gordon released this statement this morning:

On 8/28/12, at approximately 1:35 AM, the Westborough Police Department received a call reporting a breaking and entering that had just occurred on Orchard Hill Dr. The occupants heard noises in their garage and found their garage door partly open and a pocketbook stolen from the trunk of one of their vehicles.

The responding Officers noticed a Jeep Liberty parked down the street but when they returned the vehicle had left the scene. Off. Joshua Croft located the Jeep on Appleseed Dr. The vehicle was being operated by Lucas B. Houghton, age 21 of 4 Jacob Amsden Rd. Westborough. Also in the vehicle was a 15 year old male from Westborough. He is the same suspect who was arrested two weeks ago by Westborough Police in a stolen motor vehicle.

Officers located items that were stolen from the residents on Orchard Hill Dr. in the pockets of both suspects. The juvenile and Houghton were arrested and are being charged with B&E night time with intent to commit a felony, B&E a motor vehicle and receiving stolen property.

The juvenile was released to his parent’s custody and will be arraigned in Juvenile Court in Worcester. Houghton will be arraigned in WDC today.

Involved in the arrest were Sgt. Todd Rossi, Off. Chris Atchue, Off. Paul Pinto and Off. Joshua Croft.

The Westborough Police have added additional charges against these two suspects. At 5:00 AM, a resident of Adams St. reported that her two vehicles, a 99 Chev Pickup and 07 Saturn had been spray painted with the number “666” and the glass on the atrium door to their house was smashed. Both earlier suspects had large amounts of gold paint on their hands that matched the color in this vandalism. A can of gold spray paint was also recovered at the scene. They are both charged with malicious destruction of property.
