Westborough draws first blood

Westborough – Westborough High School’s (WHS) Loic Penninck (#9, right), watches his shot go past Nashoba Regional High School’s (NRHS) Mike Statkus (#16) for the first score of the game Sept. 6 in Westborough.

Westborough hosted Nashoba in their home opener. Shortly after Penninck’s goal, WHS’s Brendan Goodliffe headed in a Carter Reynolds perfectly placed corner kick to make it 2-0, which is how the first half, and ultimately, the game ended. First year WHS coach Michael Griffin gets his first win as the Rangers go to 1-0-1 for the season.
