Northborough’s Henry Liu wins gold

Northborough – Henry Liu, of Northborough, wins a gold medal for age 10 Advanced Division Kumite and a bronze medal for age 10 Advanced Division Kata at the 2012 USA National Karate Tournament held in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. This is the second time Henry has won medals at a USA Karate National Tournament. He earned his first Kumite gold medal in 2009 when he was 7.
Henry has been practicing Karate at Massdojo in Shrewsbury for five years, and earned his black belt when he was 9. He won two gold medals at age 9 and 10 for Advanced Kumite from two international events: the Junior Olympic and the US Open. In the US Open in April, Henry won gold medals for 10-11 Team Kumite and a silver medal for 10-11 Advanced Kumite.
