Two injured in Northborough Route 9 accident

Northborough – The Northborough Police Department released this statement last night:

On September 19, 2012 at 7:52 p.m. officers from the Northborough Police responded to a report of a pedestrian involved motor vehicle crash in the area of 45 Belmont Street, westbound. Upon arrival two victims were located in the roadway with serious injuries. The victims, identified as Torrez Lumpkins and Maria Robinson, both of Providence, Rhode Island, were transported to UMass University Campus by the Northborough Fire Ambulance.  Lumpkins and Robinson had been in an argument after which Robinson ran across Route 9. Lumpkins chased after her and they were crossing back across the unlit portion of the road when they were struck by Peter Levine of Sharon, MA. Levine was the lone occupant of his 2010 Toyota Camry. Levine stopped immediately after the crash to report the incident. Speed and alcohol were not a factor.
