Shrewsbury – Here are some details on the Spirit of Shrewsbury events that will be held this weekend:
Saturday, Sept 29 –
Kids” free pancake breakfast and Fishing Derby to be held at the Shrewsbury Sportsman Club, 304 Boylston Street, Route 140?North. Breakfast will be from 7 to a.m. to 8 a.m. and the Fishing Derby will be from 8 to 10 a.m.
Knights of Columbus 5K Road Race and Funwalk?at Dean Park, 100 Maple Ave. Sign up for new registrations will be at 9 a.m. Race starts at 10 a.m.
Oak Street Expo in front of the Oak Middle School,45 Oak St., under the Big Tent. 100 plus booths, food and activities under the Big Tent. The expo will be from 9:30 a.m. ?to 4 p.m.
Craft Fair inside Oak Middle School, 75 Crafters and Artisans. 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Shrewsbury Historical Society Open House, Church Street (on the common), 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.
General Artemus Ward Home Open House, 786 Main St., (across the street from Dean Park), 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. plus Chuck and Mud Concert at 2 p.m. under the tent. Sponsored by the Friends of the?Shrewsbury Library.
Sunday, September 30 –
16th ?Annual Parade ?- starting from the Beal School, 1 Maple Ave. to the Oak Middle School. Bands, Floats,?Shriners cars?and Ronald McDonald. Parade starts at 1 p.m.
Post Parade Celebration – under the Big Tent at the Oak Middle School.?Enjoy an?afternoon of?fun and food from 16 local restaurants, plus a special McDonalds” event. The 2012 Grand Marshal, Elaine LeBlanc and the SOS sponsors will also be honored. A $5.00 per person and $10.00 per family donation is requested. Children 12 years and under are free.
