Shrewsbury and Marlborough to host “Prescription Drug Take Back Day”

Westborough has new emergency notification system

Westborough – The town now has a new way to relay emergency and/or important information to residents, thanks to a grant that was recently awarded to the Board of Health (BOH).

At the Board of Selectmen’s Sept. 25 meeting Paul McNulty, the director of public health for the BOH said that his department has recently obtained an AM Radio Notification system. The new equipment was purchased through a grant from the Region 2 (Worcester County) Public Health Preparedness Coalition, he said.

Selectmen approve new contract for Morgado

Shrewsbury – The Board of Selectmen approved a three-year contract for Town Manager Daniel Morgado at its Sept.26 meeting. Morgado has been the Town Manager since 1997; his new contract will be effective as of Oct. 1 and conclude on Sept. 30, 2015.

The board recently completed an evaluation of Morgado’s performance in various categories. Maurice DePalo, the board’s chair, noted that Morgado’s rankings were all either “distinguished” or “excellent.”
