Horne leads Algonquin girls’ soccer in win over Marlborough

Marlborough- Marlborough High School (MHS) hosted Algonquin Regional High School (ARHS) for a non-league Midland matchup Oct. 6 at Kelleher Field in Marlborough.?MHS's Sarah Purcell put her school on the board first despite being covered by two ARHS defenders. ?ARHS's Michaela Horne scored the first of her two goals with less than two minutes in the first half to tie it up 1-1.

?In the second half, Horne scored the game-winner with a backward bicycle kick in a crowd in front of the goal that put ARHS up 2-1, which was the final score. ?ARHS goes to 9-0-1 overall, 4-0 league, while MHS falls to 6-1-3 overall, 2-0-2 league. (Photos/Chris Wraight)
