Motorists urged to avoid downtown Northborough next week

The Northborough Police Department has issued this advisory this afternoon:

Motorists are strongly advised to avoid the center of Northborough next week on Tuesday, Oct. 16, Wednesday, Oct. 17 and Thursday, October 18,  as paving will occur each day on Route 20 in the ongoing downtown construction area between Summer Street and Monument Drive. Posted detours and road closures will occur between 8:30 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. each day and significant delays are expected.  Detail police officers will be posted to assist motorists. Please seek alternate routes to avoid congestion.
