Shrewsbury cheerleaders take first place

Shrewsbury – Shrewsbury American Youth Cheerleaders (AYC) “rocked the house” at Clinton High School Sept. 29 taking home two first place trophies. Division 12, led by Head Coach Amy Faletra and assisted by Gail Flynn, Lisa Whitcomb and Jackie Fashjian cheered their way to the top over six other local teams. Division 13, led by Head Coach Kerry Smith and assisted by Jen Givner, Chantelle Morin, Dawn Derusha and Linn Clark beat out four other teams securing their top spot. All the Shrewsbury cheer teams put on a great show and made their coaches and Cheer Director Susan Lynch proud at this annual competition.

The next AYC competition will be held at Tsongas Arena in Lowell, Saturday, Oct. 20.
