Mary J. Tiberio, 87Shrewsbury – Mary J. (Natale) Tiberio, 87, of Shrewsbury, passed away at home Monday, Oct. 15, 2012 after a courageous battle with Alzheimer's disease.

Mary was born in Medford, one of six children of Italian immigrants Charles and Catherine (Alaimo) Natale. She was raised in Waltham where she met and married the love of her life for the next 58 years, Attilio “Arthur” Tiberio. Together they lived, worked, and raised their family in Watertown and Framingham before moving to Shrewsbury in 2000. From 1974 to 1989, Mary and her husband owned and operated M&W Auto Radiator.

Mary's husband Arthur passed away in 2006. She is survived by her devoted family, her children, Lucy DiNitto and her husband Bob, Cathy Piantedosi and her husband Joe all of Framingham, John Tiberio and his wife Priscilla of Shrewsbury, Gina Hamilton and her husband Hugh with whom she lived, Joe Tiberio and his wife Maureen of Waltham. Mary is also survived by 12 grandchildren whom she cherished, Emily and Michael Tiberio, Anthony and Julie Hamilton, Lauren, Ashley and John Tiberio, Jeff and Rob Piantedosi, Matt DiNitto, Amy Blessington and Betsy David, and seven great-grandchildren. Mary's extended family includes many nieces, nephews and friends, especially Suzzette Miller Nortey of Shrewsbury, who came into Mary's life as her caretaker five years ago, and soon became another devoted daughter who cared for Mary tirelessly. Mary was predeceased by her siblings; Vinnie, Millie and Joanne Natale, Angie Gaynor, and Eleanor Gray.

Mary was a loving Italian mother whose family was her focal point, her life's joy and inspiration. She loved to travel with her husband and cook, bowl, dance and crochet.

Friends and relatives are invited to visit with the family Friday, Oct. 19, from 5 to 8 p.m., in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St., Worcester. Her funeral will be celebrated Saturday, Oct. 20, from the funeral home with a Mass at 9:30 a.m. in St Mary Church, 641 Main St., Shrewsbury. Burial will be with her husband in Mountain View Cemetery.
