A ‘firey’ debate

Westborough – At the Special Town Meeting held Oct. 15, voters approved the request to spend $11 million to design and build a much-debated new fire station. Though some residents continued to voice opposition to the costly project, questioning why the facility had to nearly double in size and contain an emergency operating center that could seat 48, the motion passed by the required two-thirds majority.

With over a dozen articles still to be discussed, the Special Town Meeting is set to resume Oct. 16 and possibly continue Oct. 17.
