Joan A. Gaucher, 73
Shrewsbury – Joan A. (Spain) Gaucher, 73, lifelong resident of Shrewsbury, died peacefully in her home, surrounded by her loving family, Thursday, Oct. 18, 2012. Joan’s husband of 51 years, Kenneth C. Gaucher, died Feb. 25.
She leaves her loving children, Cynthia Harrison, Cheryl Cicero, Cathleen Gaucher Senecal, and Charles Gaucher; six grandchildren; one great-grandchild; three sisters, Elinor Salvidio, Ellen Papaz and Carol Diem; and many nieces and nephews. Besides her husband, Ken, Joan was predeceased by a son, Gregory; a brother, Robert Spain; and a sister, Monica Carlson.
Joan was born and raised in Shrewsbury, daughter of the late William and Mary (Howell) Spain. She attended Shrewsbury Schools.
A service celebrating Joan’s life was held Oct 22 in the Britton-Shrewsbury Funeral Home. Burial will be private in Mountain View Cemetery, Shrewsbury.
