Region – With less than two weeks to go to the Nov. 6 election, it seems like everyone has an opinion on who should be our next president and the next U.S. senator. There are also several hotly contested races for state senators and state representatives. The Community Advocate does not endorse candidates – local, state or national – but we do encourage our readers to share their opinions with us so that we may share them with our other readers.

If you would like to share your thoughts on one of the upcoming elections or another topic, please follow these guidelines ?

Letters must be signed with a name and address and include a telephone number for verification. Letters should be sent to news@communityadvocate.com and be 350 words or less. ?The editor reserves the right to reject letters on the basis of length, libelous content and suitability. Letters will be put on the Community Advocate's website on a daily basis. The deadline for the print edition is the Friday the week before publication.

The Community Advocate will not knowingly print letters that have been printed in any other newspaper. Opinions expressed in letters are not necessarily those of the Community Advocate or our advertisers.

  1. In my opinion the election is a farce. Democracy is supposed to give people a choice. Both candidates advocate using failed Republican policies on the economy, both favor the disastrous war in Afghanistan, and both are funded by the donor class. We should all refuse to vote.
