Westborough man arrested for DUI after car fire

Westborough – Police Chief Alan Gordon released this statement this morning:

On 10/31/12, at approximately 2:32 AM, the Westborough Police Department responded to the intersection of Olde Coach Rd. and Bowman Ln. for a motor vehicle accident. The arriving units located a 98 Toyota Van on the front lawn of 29 Olde Coach Rd. fully engulfed in flames.

The Officers located the operator outside the vehicle. He had minor facial injuries and was treated at the scene by Paramedics from the Westborough Fire Department and was then transported to UMass Medical.

The operator was identified as Ryan Flory, age 22 of 12 Wayside Rd. Westborough. He was placed under arrest by Off. Joshua Croft for DUI alcohol, marked lanes violation and destruction of property.

The accident investigation revealed that Flory was traveling west on Bowman Ln. in the area of Olde Coach Rd. when he lost control of the vehicle, left the roadway and hit a stone wall and then a large tree.

He will be arraigned in WDC this morning.
