Shrewsbury cheerleaders qualify for Regionals
Shrewsbury Division 13
Shrewsbury – American Youth Cheer held its local competition at Tsongas Arena in Lowell Oct. 20. About 100 spirited teams brought their routines to the floor. Shrewsbury AYC Division 13, led by head coach Kerry Smith and assisted by Jen Givner, Chantelle Morin, Dawn Derusha and Linn Clark, took first place in their division, earning top honors as the Central Mass. champions for the second year in a row.
Shrewsbury Division 12, led by head coach Amy Faletra and assisted by Jackie Fashjian, Gail Flynn and Lisa Whitcomb, secured the second place in their division.
Both teams now qualify for Regionals to be held Saturday, Nov. 24, in Providence, RI. If they qualify there, they will move on to Nationals in Florida.
