Shrewsbury – At Shrewsbury Public Library Nov. 2, Praveen Ram, 9, checks that the chains around magician Greg McAdams’ wrists are solidly locked. McAdams tried to channel the spirit of a deceased escape artist to get free from the chains. Participants of McAdams’ “Tales from Beyond” witnessed unusual occurrences and handled odd artifacts, including a voodoo doll and shrunken heads. The special event was part of “Week of Screams,” a weeklong series of spooky events sponsored by Friends of the Shrewsbury Public Library.
