Shrewsbury girls’ field hockey wins Central Mass Div. 1 title

Grafton – Shrewsbury High School (SHS) faced Notre Dame Academy (NDA) for the MIAA Field Hockey Central Mass Division 1 Final on Nov. 10 at Grafton High School, Grafton.

The two teams battled back and forth until SHS’s Justine Sheehan blasted one past NDA’s Emily Hammerstrom late in the first half for a 1-0 lead at half.

In the second half, NDA had several close chances, but failed to score and SHS’s Justine Sheehan tallied her second goal of the game with an assist from Alanna Maniatis to put SHS up for good to win 2-0. (Photos/Chris Wraight)
