The C.A. six tips of the day for Nov. 19

Region – Today is Monday, Nov. 19, the 324th day of 2012.

On this day in 1947, Princess (now Queen) Elizabeth of Great Britain married her distant cousin, Lieutenant  Philip Mountbatten.

On this day in 1985, Microsoft Windows 1.0 was released.

And on this day in 1998, the United States House of Representatives Judiciary Committee began impeachment hearings against President Bill Clinton due to his involvement with White House intern Monica Lewinsky.

Happy birthday today to – Jodie Foster (1962); Meg Ryan (1961); and Larry King (1933).

Assabet Valley Regional Technical High School will be holding a pre-Thanksgiving Bake Sale on Tuesday, Nov. 20 starting at 8 a.m.

Veterans Day, of course, was last week. Tomorrow, Tuesday,  Nov 20, the Shrewsbury  Senior Center will be hosting a presentation by Dick Partridge, who will take attendees on a journey of sorts back to World War II.

On Wednesday, Nov. 21, at 7:30 p.m., the Unitarian Universalist Congregational Society of Westborough will host this year’s Thanksgiving Eve Interfaith Community Service, sponsored by the Westborough Interfaith Clergy Association.

Parents and caretakers of children in the Marlborough Public School are being given the opportunity to offer suggestions as the district searches for a new superintendent.
