Westborough Police and Fire ask for donations for Sandy victims
Westborough – The Westborough Police and Fire Departments will be holding a drive to collect donations for the victims of Hurricane Sandy. The drive will start Wednesday, Nov. 21 and run through Sunday, Nov. 25.
In a press release, Police Alan Gordon noted, “Although several weeks have passed, the people of New York and New Jersey are still in desperate need of assistance. Homes are still in need of repair and some still do not have power! Thanksgiving is upon us and we cannot forget our fellow Americans in need.”
The following items are requested:
Non-perishable food items
Stuffed animals (new)
Items will be accepted in the front lobby of the Police Station, 45 West Main St. and at the Fire Station, 42 Milk St. Donations may be dropped off between the hours of 9 a.m. and 7 p.m.
Mark’s Moving & Storage, 111 Milk St., has donated one of its trucks to take all of the supplies to the victims, Gordon said.
