Marlborough – Sts. Anargyroi Enosis Philoptochos Ladies Society and Chamber Music Metrowest collaborated to produce a free classical chamber music concert for the community at Sts. Anargyroi Greek Orthodox Church and to collect donations for the Marlborough Community Cupboard.

Over 100 people attended the concert, which was sponsored by Sts. Anargyroi Enosis Philoptochos Ladies Society.?Through donations from audience members, bake sale proceeds and a portion of the CD sales, Enosis and Chamber Music Metrowest were able to deliver over 1,140 pounds of food to the Marlborough Community Cupboard.

Sts. Anargyroi Enosis Philoptochos Ladies Society is a local branch of the national Greek Orthodox Ladies Philoptochos Society. The organization holds many events and fundraisers throughout the year, which complement the organization's mission goals of providing aid to those in need, promoting the charitable, benevolent and philanthropic purposes of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America, preserving and perpetuating Orthodox Christian concepts and the Orthodox Christian family, and promoting participation in the activities of the Greek Orthodox community. Enosis saw this concert not only as a way to provide an inspiring event free of charge to the community during difficult economic times, but also to support the Marlborough Community Cupboard and to help the newly formed organization, Chamber Music Metrowest, get off the ground.

Chamber Music Metrowest's mission is founded on the belief that music has a remarkable power to bring positive change to a community by educating, entertaining, uplifting and inspiring. The goal is to bring chamber music to life for the Metrowest Boston community by providing accessible and affordable high-caliber concerts and educational programs. In addition to reaching audiences who already attend classical music events, the group is committed to providing the gift of music to those who may not have the resources to attend concerts regularly because of distance, financial constraints or physical limitations.

Chamber Music Metrowest performed music by Ravel, Debussy, Dubois and Beethoven at the Inaugural Concert. Performers included flutist Bonnie Cochran, violist Daniel Doña and harpist Ina Zdorvetchi.
