>I have been talking with constituents ...I don’t know of any big issues.<

There have been many issues raised with Councilor Elder, it is disappointing to hear he doesn't consider them “big”. For example:

Building on public playground land takes away valuable open space from families and children. In fact this land has been in use as a public playground for over 90 years. This space would not only be taken away from today's residents, but from all future generations of Marlborough's youth.

Building in a small and residential area will lower the quality of life for many with traffic, parking, overcrowding, and noise, during construction and for as long as the building stands. Why should residents of that neighborhood be asked to make such a large sacrifice?

Decreasing property values for many. It is not fair to ask residents to give up thousands of their hard earned dollars.

These are very big issues and should be considered as such. There is a public meeting on Wed Dec. 19th at 7:00PM in Memorial Hall (3rd Floor City Hall). I encourage anyone with a “big” concern attend and show the Mayor and Councilor Elder this is not a suitable location for a 13,000 sq foot two story building. This is park land and all of it should remain in the public domain for use by present and future residents of Marlborough.
