Two injured, one charged in Northborough assault
On 14 December, 2012 at 19:33 police received a 911 call from a residence at 508 Green Street, Northborough reporting that an assault had taken place. The caller reported that he was assaulted by a baseball bat wielding male subject. During the course of the assault, one male subject was alleged to have been stabbed.
Upon arrival of officers at 508 Green Street, a male subject was located with minor injuries in the attached garage of the home. Officers learned that the second male subject left the scene in a vehicle prior to arrival of police.
Northborough Police received a call a short time later from the Berlin Police Department reporting that a male subject with an apparent stab wound to the chest had come to their station reporting that he had been assaulted in Northborough. EMS transported this subject to the UMass Medical Center Worcester.
Preliminary investigation revealed that the two men knew each other and both were involved in the assault.
Police arrested Donald F. Williams, 56, who listed his address as 240 Pearl Street, Gardner, MA. He was charged with assault, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, a knife, and Assault and Battery with a dangerous weapon causing serious bodily injury.
As of this time the second subject was undergoing treatment at the UMass Medical Center Emergency Department. The investigation is ongoing with search warrants being executed at the residence and on the vehicle operated by the subject who drove to Berlin.
Northborough police, along with State Police Detectives assigned to District Attorney Early’s office and the State Police Crime Scene Services Section are investigating.
