Westborough – Each month the Metro West Building Officials Association holds its monthly meeting in the Forbes Municipal Building. To show their thanks, the group’s officials recently decided to make a year-end donation of $150 to the Westborough Food Pantry, Tin Htway, the Westborough Building Commissioner, said.

In a letter sent to the pantry, Robert S. Berger, the president of the association, noted that as part of their mission, the organization’s officials were willing to assist communities in times of great need such as when Super Storm Sandy hit the New York and New Jersey area.

“Building Officials are the ‘First Preventers,’” he added. “When we properly execute our duties and responsibilities countless lives are saved and property damage is kept at a minimum.”
