Elsie L. Decoteau, 89

Shrewsbury – Elsie L. (Oster) Decoteau, 89 of Shrewsbury, died Monday, Jan. 7, 2013 in the Shrewsbury Nursing Home, after an illness. Her husband, Arthur E. Decoteau, died in 1998.

Elsie is survived by her sister, Alice Sampson of Shrewsbury, and five nieces and a nephew. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Lillian Spaulding and Mildred Carlson.

She was born in Worcester, the daughter of the late Charles G. and Freda M. (Bjurman) Oster. She was educated in Worcester schools. Elsie worked for the former Denholm's and later Filenes.

She was a warm and loving person, who enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visiting hour Thursday, Jan. 10, from 10 to 11 a.m., in the Britton-Shrewsbury Funeral Home, 648 Main St., Shrewsbury. Her funeral service will follow at 11 a.m., with burial in Mountain View Cemetery.
