Recreation donation

Northborough/Southborough – Although activity fees were imposed on Algonquin Regional High School students this year, not all students have come through with the payments. In an effort to avoid cuts in programs, the School Committee voted last spring to charge every student a $50 activity fee, whether or not they participated in extracurricular activities.

Although the plan was projected to raise $50,000 toward the school’s budget, as of November 2012, only $11,000 had been collected. School officials are faced with the tough decision to either step up collections or cut some of the activities.
