Letter to editor: Library Trustees

To the editor:

The deadline for submitting paperwork to be on the local election ballot has come and gone and there are two vacancies to be filled for the Westborough Public Library Trustees.   The board is comprised of 9 Trustees who each serve a three-year term.  The Library Trustees are an independent Town board whose duties include determining policy and ensuring that the Library is adequately funded in order to provide excellent service to the Westborough community.

We would like to encourage any eligible Westborough resident who is interested in the future of the Public Library to consider placing his or her name on the ballot as a write-in candidate.  It is an exciting time to serve as a Trustee as we continue to map out our goals for the 21st Century.

If you have any questions about the duties of a Library Trustee, contact me at pfontes@town.westborough.ma.us.

If you have questions about the write-in process, contact the Town Clerk’s Office at 508-366-3020.

Sincerely,

Patricia Fontes, Chair

Westborough Public Library Trustees
