Henry J. Langevin Sr., 86Hudson – Henry J. Langevin Sr., 86, of Hudson of formerly of Marlborough, died Sunday, Jan. 27, 2013 at Coleman House in Northborough.

Born and raised in Marlborough, he was the son of the late Henry J. Langevin Sr. and Marie (Bedard) Langevin and the husband of Lucille P. (Ouellette) Langevin of Hudson for the past 65 years. After graduating from Marlborough Vocational School, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy, serving until 1946.

His career in the medical field began in 1953 following his graduation from McLean Hospital School of Nursing, Belmont. From 1955 thru 1958, he earned a B.S. as well as a M.S. in Psychiatric Nursing from Boston University and a M.S. in Hospital Administration from Columbia University, NYC. Throughout these years he had been employed at various levels of medical and administrative service at McLean Hospital, until attaining the position of Associate General Director, from which he retired in 1990.

He was a life member of the VFW and Hudson Elks, as well as a member of the Belmont Rotary Club, and the Catholic Order of Foresters, where in his younger days he was an outstanding baseball player. He enjoyed summers at Hampton Beach, watching his grandsons play sports, the Red Sox and Patriots, and a round of golf or game of cards.

Besides his wife, he is survived by his son, Henry J. Langevin Jr. and his wife Eileen of Marlborough; his daughter, Diane Dykes and her husband David, of Hudson; his sister, Beverly Johnson of Atlanta, GA; his grandsons, H. Joseph Langevin, III and Timothy S. Langevin; and several nieces and nephews. He was also the brother of the late Sylvia Radivonyk.

Visiting hours will be held Wednesday, Jan. 30, from 4 to 7 p.m., at the Slattery Funeral Home, 40 Pleasant St., Marlborough. A funeral mass will be celebrated Thursday, Jan. 31, at 11 a.m., at the Immaculate Conception Church, 11 Prospect St., Marlborough. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery, Beach Street in Marlborough.
