Northborough – The non-profit organization Birthday Wishes, based out of Northborough, provides birthday parties for homeless children throughout central Mass. For the second year in a row, Northborough Chiropractic Center reached out to its clients, and to the community of Northborough, during the holiday season and asked them to donate items for the organization.

Enough items such as toys, books, paper products, cake mix and frosting were donated to “keep the candles burning for four months,” according to Dr. Karen Moriarty, of Northborough Chiropractic.

“Our patients are the best!” she said.  “They are so enthusiastic to donate to such a great cause.”

Teri Scibelli is the regional coordinator for Birthday Wishes.

“We are so thankful for the support of local business such as Northborough Chiropractic Center.  The items donated will directly benefit children in Central Massachusetts, bringing smiles to the faces of many birthday children living in homeless shelters and scattered sites in our community,” she said.

The organization hosts approximately 10 parties and provides an average of 15 Birthday Boxes to families in transitional housing each month, she said.

“We rely entirely on donations to provide these children with gifts and parties,” she noted. “Therefore, the support of generous community members, such as Northborough Chiropractic Center, is vital to our organization..”
