Katherine M. Wiles, 73

Shrewsbury - Katherine M. (Healy) Wiles, of Shrewsbury, died at home Sunday, Feb. 17, 2013. She was 73.

Katherine, known to all as “Kay,” was born in Worcester on May 3, 1939, one of 15 children of the late Frederick F. and Mary G. (Brown) Healy. She was a graduate of the former Commerce High School. On Aug.  28, 1975 in Saint Mary of the Hills Church in Boylston, she married Donald B. Wiles Jr. She had been a resident of Shrewsbury since 1953.

She worked at Riley-Stoker Co., the City of Worcester and for Scott Associates in Clinton before retiring.

Her siblings, Francis, Charles “Herbie,” Walter, Richard, George and John Healy, Gertrude Condon, Marjorie Collins, Virginia Turcotte, Maureen Buchholz and Mary Healy, all predecease her.

In addition to her husband of 37 years, Don, she leaves her son, Kenneth A. Wickman of Worcester; her siblings, James Healy and his wife, Jolene, of Boylston, Paul Healy and his wife, Sharon, of Worcester, and Patricia Derby and her husband, Ralph, of Sterling; her mother-in-law, Jeannette (Robidoux) Wiles of Shrewsbury; and many nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will honor and remember Kay’s life by gathering privately in Heald & Chiampa Funeral Directors – The Sumner House, 5 Church Road, On the Common, Shrewsbury Center. Burial will follow in Mountain View Cemetery.
