Westborough – The Westborough Police Department has released a press statement about a robbery that took place yesterday, Feb. 28, at Towne & Country Jewelers:
On 2/28/13, at approximately 1:44 PM, the Westborough Police Department received a report from Town and Country Jewelers in West Meadow Plaza on Milk St. regarding an unarmed robbery that had just taken place.
The owner of the business was showing a male customer two rings, when the customer grabbed them from his hand and ran from the store. The rings were valued at $1,000 and $300. The suspect ran to a Mercury Mountaineer which was waiting in an adjacent parking area of the plaza. The business owner was able to obtain a plate number from that vehicle. The vehicle was registered to a resident of Leicester.
