Northborough – The second-seed Algonquin Regional High School (ARHS) Tomahawks girls’ basketball team hosted seventh-seed Worcester North High School (WNHS) Polar Bears on Mar. 1 in Northborough for their Mass. Central Division 1 quarter-final game.

The Tomahawks built a commanding lead early; the Polar Bears didn’t score until there were just under thirty seconds remaining in the first period which ended with ARHS leading 16-2.  The second half was more of the same with the final score 62-20 in ARHS’ favor.

ARHS will face third-seed Wachusett Regional High School in the semi-final round. Wachusett defeated sixth-seed Shrewsbury High School 44-33 in their quarter-final game March 1.
