Shrewsbury – Francis J. “Frank” Rudden Jr., 86, passed away at home at “Southgate at Shrewsbury” Wednesday, Feb. 27, 2013.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Georgette; three children, Eileen Rudden of Cambridge, Dr. Marie Rudden of West Stockbridge, and Kevin Rudden of Mendon; one sister, Joan Stuckart of Vernon, CT; eight grandchildren; one niece; and two sons-in-law.
A U.S. Navy veteran, Mr. Rudden served in the Pacific Theater of Operations during World War II. He received both his Bachelor's and Master's degrees from the University of Notre Dame and remained an ardent fan of the “Fighting Irish” football team for the rest of his life.
Born in New York City, Mr. Rudden raised his children in New Jersey, where he worked in the insurance industry before retiring in 1992. He moved to Shrewsbury in the late-1990s to be closer to his children and grandchildren.
He served as a Town Meeting Member in Shrewsbury and was active in Southgate activities.
