Hudson/S. Yarmouth – Mary C. (Walsh) DuBois, 87, of S. Yarmouth, former longtime resident of Hudson, died Friday, March 1, 2013 at her home in S. Yarmouth, surrounded by her loving family. She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Julian DuBois of S. Yarmouth.

Mary was born in Watertown, daughter of the late Thomas and Mary (Howarth) Walsh. She was raised in Hudson, where she resided for most of her life, and was a 1944 graduate of Hudson High School. She later attended Worcester State College, where she received her Teaching Certificate and received her Master's Degree from Leslie College.

She began her long career as a teacher in Southborough, teaching grades 1 and 2, and spent many years as a Special Education Teacher and Counselor within the Hudson Public School System. Following her teaching career, she worked as a therapist with Windwood Assoc. in Westborough and later with Family Continuity on Cape Cod. She had resided in S. Yarmouth the past 25 years.

Mary had many interests other than her career. She enjoyed spending time at the beach, she loved to read, travel and play Mahjong. She was a member of the AAUW Organization, the Cape Cod Book Club, the Antiques Group on the Cape, and the St. Pius Parish family in S. Yarmouth. She had a unique ability of always making new friends, but, most of all, she loved spending time with her family and friends. She will be missed by all who loved and knew her.

Besides her husband, she is survived by her children, William DuBois and his wife Noella of Berlin, Liz Beach of Pepperill, Thomas DuBois and his wife Tammy of Flagstaff, AZ, and Eileen DuBois of S. Yarmouth. She is also survived by her brother, Thomas “Tuck” Walsh of Hudson; her loving grandchildren, Seth Beach, Jason DuBois, Sabrina Beach, Jessica Lamb, Jenelle DuBois, Lacey DuBois, Richard DuBois, Jamey DuBois, Ashley, Sullivan, Rachel Sullivan, and Joey Sullivan; and her many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated Tuesday, March 5, at 9:00 a.m., in Saint Michael's Church, 21 Manning St., Hudson. Burial will follow in Forestvale Cemetery of Hudson. Family and friends may attend calling hours Monday, March 4, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m., at the Tighe-Hamilton Funeral Home, 50 Central St.
