Pedaling to end cancer

Marlborough – Bicyclists participate in the ninth annual Pedal to End Cancer (formerly known as Spin for Hope), a three-hour indoor cycling event to benefit the American Cancer Society, held March 3 at Wayside Racquet & Swim Club (WRSC) and 70 other clubs throughout New England. Denise Howard (front, center) was WRSC’s top fundraiser and the second highest of all clubs with $3,135. Sharon Foster (front, right) was honored as a cancer survivor. With more donations expected after the day of the event, WRSC raised among the top several clubs with over $16,200. When the event started in 2005, WRSC was one of the six clubs that participated.
