Mildred H. Lambert, 87

Marlborough – Mildred H. (Jankus) Lambert, 87, died Tuesday evening, March 19, 2013 after a short period of failing health. She was the wife of the late Raymond J. Lambert, who died in 2004. She was born in Hudson, the daughter of the late Stanley and Delia (Rumsa) Jankus, and lived in Marlborough for 66 years.

Mrs. Lambert worked as a crossing guard for the city of Marlborough for many years, retiring in 1985. She was a longtime member of the Immaculate Conception Church in Marlborough, where she was active in the former St. Jude’s Guild.

She is survived by one son, Dr. Richard P. Lambert of St. Louis; two grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Her funeral will be held Monday, March 25, at 11:00 a.m., in the Immaculate Conception Church, 11 Prospect St., Marlborough. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. Visiting hours are Monday, March 25, from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m., at the William R. Short and Son Funeral Home, 5 West Main St. Marlborough.
