Pinwheel garden coming to Town Hall

29

Northborough – On Saturday, March 30, members of the Northboro Junior Woman's Club will create a “pinwheel” garden in front of Town Hall to promote National Child Abuse Prevention Month.

“Pinwheels for Prevention” was launched by the group Prevent Child Abuse America to raise funds, through the sale of pinwheels, and to educate people about the effects of abuse and ways to prevent it.? In April 2012, over 750 pinwheels were planted in Northborough – the club hopes to exceed that number this year. They also plan to “plant” four additional gardens in other parts of the town. The pinwheel gardens will be on display until Sunday, April 28.

The club has already raised $750 this year for the project. Pinwheels are still available for purchase for $1 each. To purchase pinwheels or make a contribution, visit the Northboro Junior Woman's Club website: www.northborojuniors.org.? All proceeds from the sale will go directly to child abuse prevention efforts.
