police resizedShrewsbury – The Shrewsbury Police Department has released a statement about vandalism that took place April 5 and April 8:

On Monday April 8th, 2013 at 8:30 p.m. Shrewsbury Officers were dispatched #36 North Quinsigamond Ave. for a report of a suspicious male in the area of the parking lot. A limited description of the suspect was given which was a male with dark hair. This address is an elderly complex high rise complex. While Police were searching for the suspect they discovered sixteen vehicles had their tires slashed. Police also discovered a vehicle in the parking lot that had been intentionally burned and received interior damage. Shrewsbury Police and the Shrewsbury K-9 unit searched the area for approximately two hours.

Also last night at the Shrewsbury Green Apartments which is located at #35 South Quinsigamond Ave. it was reported to the Shrewsbury Police that two vehicles were intentionally set on fire. These apartments are a short distance from the scene of the tire slashing and arson, so it appears these crimes are related. Both vehicles received interior damage as a result of the arson.

On Friday April 5th 2013 at 8:42 a.m. it was reported to the Shrewsbury that seven motor vehicles had their tires slashed at The Shrewsbury Green apartments. These crimes are being investigated by the Shrewsbury Police Detective Bureau and anyone with information on these crimes should contact Detective Michael McGinnis at 508-841-8436.
