Canadian man arrested for alleged sexual assault in Northborough

Police 2Northborough – The Northborough Police Department released the following statement this morning:

On April 12, 2013, at 02:17AM, Northborough Police were dispatched to a residence on Main Street regarding a sexual assault. Officers arrived at the residence and the homeowner stated a female came to their house just after 2am, knocked on their door, and was seeking help because she had been assaulted. The female was visible upset and was soaking wet as a result of the rain.

It was learned that the victim and the suspect had met earlier in the day at a tradeshow which was being held in Marlborough. At some point during the night the victim obtained a ride from the suspect. The suspect pulled into the parking lot of 490 Main Street (Pheasant Hill Community). It was at this location that the suspect sexually assaulted the victim. The victim attempted to run away from the suspect, however the suspect ran after the victim, lead her back to his vehicle, and assaulted her again. The victim was able to flee once again, this time running across the street where she hid in in some bushes, and eventually knocked on the door of a Main Street residence.

Northborough Police who were assisted by Marlborough Police were later able to locate and identify the suspect who was staying at the Best Western in Marlborough.

The suspect, who was arrested by Northborough Police, was identified as Tyler W. Buttle (age 31) of Inverary, Ontario.

Mr. Buttle will be arraigned this morning in Westborough District Court on the following charges:
