Northborough gets ‘active’

Northborough – On a beautiful, sunny morning, over 100 local residents participated in the first “Northborough Gets Active” 5K Road Race and Walk April 27. The event was a fundraiser for the Rotary Club of Northborough, Inc. and the Northborough Recreation Department.

Michelle Gillespie, the president of the Rotary, explained the event’s mission.

“Our road race is called ‘Northborough Gets Active’ 5K Road Race and Walk because we had hopes of getting families out and active,” she said. “And we had a great turnout with about 150 runners of all different ages.”

Event sponsors included: GPS Financial Management, St. Mary’s Credit Union, Boroughs YMCA, UMass Memorial- Marlborough, and Michelle Gillespie – Realtor, Prudential Prime Properties.
