Shrewsbury defeats Algonquin in boys’ tennis

Shrewsbury High School’s Alex Ellwanger has it under control during his #1 singles match against Algonquin Regional High School’s James Hawn.

Northborough – The undefeated Shrewsbury High School Colonials met the winless Algonquin Regional High School Tomahawks for a boys’ tennis match April 26 in Northborough. The Colonials’ first doubles team of Austin DeLasse and John Lindsay defeated Algonquin’s team of J.J. Courtney and Tadas Buivydas 6-3, 6-0.

In the first singles match, Shrewsbury’s Alex Ellwanger defeated the Tomahawks’ James Hawn 6-1, 6-2.  Shrewsbury won the overall match, 4-1, to go to 4-0 while Algonquin dropped to 0-5 for the season.
