Worcester – The top-seeded Algonquin Regional High School faced the second-seeded Shrewsbury High School Colonials for the Massachusetts Girls Lacrosse Central Division 1 final June 8 at Commerce Field at General Foley Stadium in Worcester.
After both teams missed their first chances to score, the Tomahawks’ Hannah Lindgren got on the board first on a nice feed from Maggie Wraight.? The two teams traded goals until the Tomahawks opened it up late in the first half and ended with the score 10-4 in Algonquin's favor.
In the second half, the Colonials scored first but the Tomahawks ran away with the game and won 18-9.
This is the second Central Massachusetts title in a row for Algonquin and they will once again face Longmeadow High School in the state semi-final.? Last year, Algonquin defeated Longmeadow 10-9 in overtime to reach the state final. (Photos/Chris Wraight)
