Region – Central One Federal Credit Union has strived to be a community focused financial institution for over 60 years. In April, it went an extra step by dedicating the entire month as a way to give back to their members. During “Member Tribute Month,” the credit union provided food, activities, demonstrations and raffles at its branches for members of all ages.

Members could get a free meal or dessert at the local food vendor trucks stationed at the main four branches throughout the month. The primary vendors, DogFather Hot Dogs and Vee Bops Ice Cream, provided the most sought after food items.

In addition, Member Tribute Month provided an array of activities for members with young children. At the Shrewsbury and Westborough branches, children were treated to “Pumpernickel Puppets Live!” The show was so popular, additional shows were booked to accommodate all of Central One's members who wished to attend. The two other main branches, Auburn and Northborough, hosted an? “Oakie's Block Party” for kids, featuring private shows with clowns, magicians, coloring contests and Oakie, the Central One mascot.

All throughout the month, current and new Central One members could enter dozens of raffles, with prizes ranging from a year of car washes from Car Wash and Detailing of Westborough, $100 Central One gift cards, Amazon Kindles, and $100 Amazon gift cards, among other items.

All raffle participants were entered into the Grand Prize Raffle for a $5,000 “Dream Vacation.” ?The prize was won by member Nancy Pollack.

The month capped off with the annual “Member Shred Day,” where all four branches offered members the opportunity to bring their confidential and private documents to the branches where they were then destroyed in special shredding trucks.
