Shrewsbury – The 10th annual Special Needs 5K Road Race and one-mile fun run/walk will be held on Saturday, July 27 starting at the Floral Street School, 54 Floral St. The fun run starts at 8:30 a.m. and the 5K starts at 9 a.m. Day-of-race registration opens at 7:30 a.m. This is a fun fitness event to benefit the Shrewsbury Parks and Recreation Department's Special Needs Program.
The fee is $20 before July 25; after that date, $25. The fun run fee is $5. Moisture-wicking t-shirts will be given to the first 100 registered 5K runners. Awards will be given to the first place finishers in all divisions of the 5K race. Certificates will be awarded to all finishers in the one-mile fun run. Timing and scoring is provided by Central Mass Striders.
