Obit-Flag_USE-THIS-ONE4Westborough – Francis J. “Buddie” Dwyer, 90, passed away peacefully Sunday, Sept. 8, 2013 at the Beaumont Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. He was the husband of the late Veronica (Wojcicki) Dwyer.

Born in Jersey City, N.J., he was the son of the late Francis and Helen (Krazewski) Dwyer and was educated in Jersey City schools. During WW II he served with the U.S. Marine Corps attaining the rank of Staff Sergeant.

Mr. Dwyer was the owner and operator of Conelle Distributors in New York City for many years. From 1980 to 2000, he worked for the Bergen County Utility Authority prior to his retirement. During the 1960s and “70s he served as a Boroughs Councilman for the Borough of Moonachie.

Mr. Dwyer has been a resident of Westborough since 2006, previously living in Moonachie, N.J. Locally, he was a communicant of St. Luke the Evangelist Church and formerly of St. Margaret's Church in Little Ferry, N.J. He was a life member of the Moonachie Fire Department Hose Co. #1, and a Fourth Degree Member of Trinity Council #747, Knights of Columbus in Hackensack, N.J.

He is survived by his three children, Thomas F. Dwyer and his wife Bonnie of Westborough, Janice Fahy and her husband Richard of Levittown, Penn., and Bill R. Dwyer of Dudley, and four grandchildren, Shannon Fahy, Thomas F. Dwyer Jr., Richard Fahy, and Mark A. Dwyer. He was the brother of the late Catherine Zazzali.

The family would like to extend their appreciation to the staff at Beaumont for the excellent care that Buddie received.

A committal service will be planned at a later date.
