Special Olympics Mass hosts second Friday 5K

Marlborough – Special Olympics Massachusetts, a leader in providing healthy lifestyles through year-round sports for individuals with intellectual disabilities, invites all to join fellow runners from around the Marlborough area for a fun break in the work day to help benefit the athletes of Special Olympics.

The organization will be hosting a 5K road race at The Yawkey Sports Training Center, 512 Forest St., Friday, Sept. 13. Sign in for runners/walkers will be at 12 p.m. The race will start at 12:30 p.m. and finish before 2 p.m. Participants who sign up will?receive?a t-shirt and a chance to win prizes. Awards will be given to the top female and male runners. All runners will be given bib numbers and the event will be timed.

Registration is $25 per runner. Runners can register online or by calling 508-485-0986. Registration is available now and at the day of the event. To register and see a full map of the course, go to www.SpecialOlympicsMA.org/5K.
