Getting the bugs out
Shrewsbury – Although generally very reliable, Shrewsbury Electric and Cable Operations (SELCO) has had its share of technical challenges with its cable TV transmission this year. Since May, when SELCO converted to an all-digital system, the system has been plagued with brief intermittent outages. Working closely with Cisco, SELCO has recently completed a software upgrade that it believes will fix the bug.
However, SELCO also wants to remind customers of two other potential issues. The first is the issue of “sun outages” which affect satellite transmission typically in early to mid-October. The second issue is that some customer's DTA (Digital Transport Adaptor) devices may have faulty power supplies. Customers still experiencing intermittent outages are asked to call the SELCO help desk at 508-841-8572.
